Nigeria is blessed with an average of 6 hours of sunlight per day, making it an ideal location for solar energy generation. As of 2021, the installed solar capacity in Nigeria was 525.57 MW, with the potential to generate over 1,200 TWh of electricity annually. The solar energy industry in Nigeria is expected to create thousands of new jobs in the coming years, particularly in areas such as solar panel installation, maintenance, and repair, and the demand for non-technical talent in Business Development, Human Resources, Finance, Management, and Legal is increasing!

The demand for renewable energy continues to skyrocket, and the solar energy industry has emerged as a leader in this growth. For senior professionals seeking to make a successful career change and thrive in the solar energy industry, the Solar Energy Transition Program is designed to provide comprehensive support and resources.

This training program is designed specifically for c-suite professionals and senior professionals in human resources, business development, finance, and other diverse sectors such as banking, oil and gas, real estate, and more. The program allows professionals to leverage their existing skills and experience and apply them to the solar energy industry.

Upon completion of the program, participants are awarded a certificate and gain knowledge of the latest technologies, best practices, and industry trends. Additionally, they have the opportunity to expand their network of senior professionals, C-suite executives, and business owners in the solar energy industry, providing them with valuable connections and potential employment opportunities if they decide to transition. This empowers participants to make informed decisions about a transition and the solar industry.

The Solar Energy Transition Program has been developed to accommodate professionals based on their time, interests, and commitment levels. There are two major initiatives: the Fundamental Course and the Cocktail event.

The Fundamental Course is a three-week online course where participants collaborate with other professionals transitioning in a community of experienced solar professionals to work on case studies and learn the fundamentals of solar, especially in terms of deploying a project end to end.

The Cocktail event is the second phase of the program. This event is designed for participants to network with industry professionals and form meaningful connections with potential employers. It’s an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and industry players and make connections that can lead to future employment.

Participation in both initiatives is strongly recommended. However, participants are at liberty to attend the cocktail event only or take just the Fundamental Course if that is what their schedule and commitment allows. The program is designed to be flexible and accommodating, allowing participants to continue working while completing the course or to attend the event.
